Hilltop School is currently hiring for the following positions:
Full Time Positions, Year Round, Benefits Eligible
Lead Preschool Teacher- 40 hours per week (This would be working with children ages 3-4)
Float Teacher- 40 Hours per week (This would be working with children ages 18 months-5 years old)
Maintenance Coordinator- 35 hours per week
Per Diem Positions- Not eligible for benefits but we do offer earned paid leave
Substitutes (This would be flexible hours and per diem working with all age groups, with substitute positions, you give us your availability and we work around it and schedule based on our needs. )

Preschool Lead Teacher:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of running a preschool classroom including but not limited to developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum and establishing and maintaining relationships with family members.
-40 Hours per week, year-round, Monday through Friday and benefits eligible. We offer competitive wages and a there is a current monthly bonus through the Early Childhood Educator Salary Workforce Supplement Program. This is a tiered system determined by the State of Maine.
Educational Requirements:
Must have one of the following:
Must be Pediatric and Adult CPR and First Aid Certified or be willing to obtain this certification if hired.
Float Teacher Position:
The Float Teacher is responsible for all aspects of running a classroom in the absence of the head teacher and assistant teacher. The Float Teacher works closely with all age groups (ages 18 mo. through Age 5) and assists with various tasks throughout the building.

Educational Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of one (1) year experience as a teacher’s assistant or paraprofessional preferred.
· Course work in early childhood education preferred.
Additional knowledge skills, and experience required for all positions:
· Knowledge of child development, positive guidance, and developmentally appropriate practice.
· Passion for the field of Early Childhood Education.
· Strong written/verbal communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work independently but also as a team player.
· Ability to think quickly, clearly, and remain calm during stressful times.
· Ability to maintain a professional attitude and work ethic at all times.
· Must be dependable and adaptable.
· Fingerprint Based Background Check as required by the Dept. of Health and Human Services and Childcare Licensing.
· Member of the Maine Roads to Quality Registry.
· Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain.
· Successful completion of Maine’s Infant and Toddler Early Learning and Development Standards or Maine’s Early Learning and Development Standards training based on assigned age group or willingness to obtain
· Completion of required Health and Safety Training through Maine Roads to Quality
· Completion of Maine Mandated Reporter Training or willingness to obtain.
Maintenance Coordinator:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Hilltop School in Bangor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance practices. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate must have an appreciation for older, historical buildings as our building was built in 1869.
This position is 35 hours per week, year-round, and is benefits eligible. The ideal candidate would work 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day on a regular basis however, candidate would need to be flexible in the winter if grounds need clearing and get here in time to prepare the building for occupancy. Candidate must also be willing to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance issues and alarm calls as needed. Occasional weekends may be required for repairs or maintenance that need to be done when the building is not occupied.
